SPEKTRUM LAB is the experimental unit of SPEKTRUM Partner GmbH, founded by Andreas Rupf, lecturer in the MAS and CAS in Spatial Development at ETH Zurich. The lab develops AI tools for spatial planning and public administration, tests them with municipalities and planning firms, and keeps developing them.

Our approach
SPEKTRUM LAB is not a product, it is a place to think. We develop AI tools at the intersection of spatial planning, public administration and new technologies. Not everything will work. Some of it surprises us, too.
What emerges here is born directly from practice and teaching: from municipalities that have to calculate their building zones, from planning firms that document the weighing of interests, from authorities that compute value capture levies. Real problems, real experiments. We discuss our ideas with associations, professors and the relevant actors in each field.
